Princess Cruise

My husband and I are going on a Princess cruise to south east asia. The cruise starts and ends in Singapore. The ports on our itinerary are: Ko Samui, Thailand; Bankok, Ho Chin Minh City, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Phuket and back to Singapore.

I would appreciate any tips you can give on excursions especially since y husband has problem walking.
Thanks.

If it was me, I'd arrange a private car and driver for each port.

Bangkok and HCMC are far from where the ship ports, about 2 hrs. In Bangkok you can get a govt regulated taxi in the cruise terminal and it’s quite reasonable. Beyond that like Kathie suggested search for private companies on line.

Thank you for your comments.

What will the weather be in mid February to beginning of March?

Also, do we need visa for Vietnam if we are going to be there only for a few hours?

Thanks.

Both HCMC and Hanoi are crammed with people, motor scooters, car traffic and broken sidewalks. The first three bump together on the fourth (parked scooters can take up all the walkway.) And crossing a busy street without traffic lights is Vietnam's answer to whitewater rafting, or bullfighting. So I hope you can calculate just how much your husband can take on if walking. By the way, I love Hanoi despite (and because) of its challenges.

Have you looked on the Cruise Critic Forums?

If you hook a private tour make sure you allow plenty of time to get back to the ship before it sails [without you].

Concur about the need for a Vietnam Visa, unless you passport is one with a 15 day exemption, eg. British.

Depends on budget of course. After our cruise we spent the day in Singapore pore ahead of our night flight back at the M.

It was not as expensive as the Pan pacific Marina where we spent 5 days prior to cruising but for about $100.00 less per night it was quite nice with China town w/i walking distance and they had a great buffet breakfast too.
