Prasart contact

Does anyone have a working fax or email address to contact the Prasart Museum for scheduling a visit in February? I've tried faxing at various times the past several weeks and get nowhere (busy/no signal). My googling hasn't been successful, as I keep pulling up the same tour group web sites but no email for Prasart! How have the rest of you lucky Fodorites scheduled your visits there? Thanks... Claire

Tong did it for us. Sorry I'm no immediate help. They also have a store near the Grand Hyatt Erawan.

I'll check my "travel junk" at home and see if I still have a brochure. Maybe that will have a number/contact for it.

Lovesadventure - Thanks. Ironically, I just now emailed Tong to see if she is free to drive us the day we want to go, and explained that I am having probs reaching Prasart. How far in advance must one book a visit to them? I'm shooting for a Friday in mid Feb. Claire

Claire, I called the Prasart from Bangkok the first day we were there for an appointment two weeks away. I never found any email for them. I understand there is a Prasart museum shop in Bangkok somewhere - they might have a working fax or email. But if Tong is taking you she should be able to set up your appointment.

Kathie - Thanks. So far I've gotten Tong's auto reply email that she is busy and may not be able to reply for a few days. Guess I'll sit tight til she replies! Claire

Prasart Museum? What is it and where?
Thak you.

It's on the outskirts of Bangkok - you'll need a driver. Do a search on Prasart Museum and you'll find lots of info. We have photos of it on our website www.marlandc.com Click on the Bangkok 2005 photo and there is a link inside to the Prasart photos.

Leigh - These are the same numbers I have. The fax never seems to connect for some reason. I'll see what Tong can do for us. Thanks though... Claire

Kathie: Your "Prasart Museum's pictures" are awsome! I enjoyed it very much and will try to go there this time. It is much better than Jim Thompson which I visited a few years ago. Thanks.

Thanks, everyone. Tong went ahead and made a reservation for us, so we're covered. What a treasure she is. While I'm here, does anyone have any updates on the bombings NY Eve? Washington Post buried the story deep inside A section on Jan. 1. Claire

Claire, there are some posts from Bangkok about it, look for threads titled Bombs over Bangkok and Guenmai in Bangkok.

The NYT is reporting that it was the work of opponents to the coup (Shinewatra's partisans).
