Pocket Wi-Fi Speeds (187.5 Mbps v. 75 Mbps)?

I am planning to rent a pocket WiFi for my upcoming trip to Japan. I am thinking of going with Global Advanced Communications, but I am wondering whether I should get the 187.5 Mbps version (14,350JPY) or the 75 Mbps version (cost is 9,950JPY)? They both provide unlimited data so it seems like the speed is the only difference for the price. I will mostly just use the pocket wifi for google maps and looking up information. Will the 75 Mbps version be sufficient? How much faster is the 187.5 version or is there any reason to get it? Thanks!

Uh, the 187.5 version will be 2.5x faster.

That said, the 75Mbps version is likely far faster than what you normally get on your cellphone and faster than your own internet at home.

If it's to look up some websites, Google Maps etc, then you hardly need the faster speed. The faster speed would be better for downloading massively large files, streaming 4K video, active online games, etc.

Otherwise, you should be more than happy with the slower speed.

Thanks! I will go with the 75 speed!

hmm yeah i agree i think the 75 speed will be good enough for you! Ive been looking into a lot of different companies too before i rent my pocket wifi. Im leaning towards either global communications or Genki Mobile. Ive read good reviews for both. Has anyone gone with Genki Mobile?
