I saw you recommended that hotel site to someone else and I wrote it down. Haven't checked it yet. Trying to zero in on the area.
The kayaking idea in Phuket's Phang Nga bay sounded good to me though, If I can stay far enough away from the activities in Phuket.

The resorts listed here are really fabulous. If you are thinking about the Phuket area, it's worth looking at some of these. There are certainly places on Phuket where you'll feel "away from it all."
