This has to be a personal decision, but I would not consider bypassing Vietnam unless the bird flu problem became substantially worse than the very limited outbreaks reported so far. It has infected very few people in a population of 70 million. You may wish to consult the CDC and WHO websites, though, and avoid undercooked poultry and eggs.

I agree with Kathie's itinerary...and Neil Oz's suggestion to not skip Vietnam. We love Vietnam..(have been twice...).do the North...you can always go back to the South if you like it....
3 weeks will give you enough time to really get more than a taste of South East Asia. Happy Travels.

Yes, slow down and don't try to squeeze so many places into such little time or else you'll return home not remembering much of anything. Plus, you can probably plan to go back another time and do things you didn't have time to do the first time. I've been on the roads annually for 30-plus years now ( since I was 17) and still haven't done all I want to do...but it's always great fun planning the next adventure. It gives one something exciting to look forward to. Have a great, great time. Happy Travels!

I have a question regarding "the rainy seasonquot;

Can you please tell me whether the rain typically lasts all day long or whether it comes in brief, heavy showers throughout the day.

I hope this questions makes sense

Thank you very much!
