Planning my itinerary to southern India

Hello,
I am trying to plan my itinerary for 2 weeks in november. We are landing in Mumbai on nov.20 and leaving Bangalore on dec. 3 . We would like to spend a few days in Mumbai and then go to Goa and after to Kerala and finally go to Mysore and leave from Bangalore .

What I would like to know is how much time we should spend in each destination , we are planning to fly between the major center .

Any other info would be greatly appreciated !

Thank you !

All depends on what you wish to do. On the whole, Goa will be good for 3/4 nights. Take a look at Casa Colvale. Do not miss fontainhas & the village houses in north.
Mumbai has enough for a couple of nights. Take a drive through the sassoon ghats (no photography)early morning for this is the place where they bring the morning catch to the market. Crawfords market is colourful,Victoria terminus where the suburban trains ferry passengers...mindboggling. The museum has some fine paintings and artifacts from the house of Tatas.
One night in Cochin, may be at The Malabar House or the Old Harbour.
A night on the Premium houseboat in Backwaters are a must-do. A couple of nights at Kumarakom.
Two nights in Mysore, 90miles from Bangalore, for the Palace is one of the best. Seringapatam is about 20 miles away from Mysore. Darya Daulat Palace is built of teakwood with some fine frescoes.
Hope it helps!

unless my math is wrong, you have only nine travel days left after leaving Mumbai.I'm not counting Dec 3 as it is a day you are leaving.

So you have nine days between Goa, Kerala, and Mysore?

Ive never heard of scuba out of Cochin (that's not to say it isnt do-able) and the beach there is not special.

As Mr Singh said, it depends on your interests. What floats your boat--beaches? History? gorgeous scenery? Temples? Tea country? Backwaters?

Hi,

Goa has wonderful beaches and historic places. As Mr VP Singh rightly mentioned, Goa will be done in 3 Nights and if you also intend to relax at the beach, I think 5 Nights should be enough. You can take a night train to Kochi from Goa. Kochi boating can be done in Marine Drive. For Temples, you may go in for Guruvayur Temple which is not very far from Kochi. But if you intend to visit Padmanabha Swami Temple in Trivandrum, which is famous for the recent information regarding the collection of Gold in the temple, it takes around 5 hours from Kochi. If you intend to go for houseboat on backwaters for a night Kumarakom or Alapuzha is good. For Scenery, Munnar, around 4 hours of journey by cab would be a very good option.

Regards

Sam
