Place to stay Hue
Advice please on well located hotel in Hue for 60 yr old couple. Not backpacker type of place but not big chain hotel please.

We are thinking of staying in the Saigon Morin. Any feedback?

Haven’t stayed there but I do find that place a little dark and depressing. We last stayed in a cheap place close to the centre which was decent enough but not sure I would go out of my way to suggest it. I can search for the name if required.
If you are consider the Morin, have a look at La Residence Hue, it used to be the French embassy and is a very stylish Art Deco building on the river. The rooms overlooking the river are superb. It used to be an Accor Hotel ( same as metropole Hanoi) but that has changed I think recently |
Thanks again crellston

We stayed at La Residence in July and it was wonderful - the room was fantastic, as was the service.
crellston is correct that they are no longer an Accor Hotel - they are independent. I would highly recommend it. |
We didn't stay at La Residence but wish we had. We had drinks and dinner there and got a tour of the rooms. It's a lovely property and I would recommend it.

Thank you
