Phuket vs Rayavadee
 

We are planning a trip for February. We cannot decide between staying 6 nights on Phuket (?Chedi, Amanupri, Le Meridien) or in Krabi at Rayavadee. Does anyone have any suggestions. We are looking for relaxation, great scenery and beach. <BR><BR>

Krabi if you just want beach, scenary and to relax, but be aware that's all there is. Phuket will give you more choice. Chedi/Amanpuri will be relaxing but at the same time if you want to go out for restaurants or entertainment it 'is' available. Remote places can feel 'very' remote after a while.

I just went through the same dilemma. I ended up booking Rayavadee for January for the following reasons:<BR><BR>1. Better scenery<BR>2. For the price of the cheapest room at Amanpuri I got a Deluxe Villa with a private pool, Breakfast and dinner, free minibar and daily massage and cocktails in the afternoon.

We have settled on the Evason Resort at Pranburi, the rates were excellent and so we upgraded ourselves to a Pool Villa. We also for obvious reasons wanted to have a fairly quiet place.
