Phuket Reniassaince/The Shore in November-swimmable beach?

WE are headed to Phuket in a few weeks, and are staying at Phuket Renaissance for 5 days then 3 days at The Shore at Katathani. The Renaissance gets great reviews butI heard that the beach is un-swimmable? Is that true? Is the beach at The Shore swimmable? If not, can you recommend other resorts on the beach that we can actually swim in. We love getting in the water when we go to the beach!! Will the water be warm end of November?

while we were at ren. a few weeks ago, the beach was closed to swimming at least 1/2 the time---surf is toooo rough

In a few weeks, the roughness may have subsided, as Nov is when the monsoon changes. Beaches are red-flagged when the water is rough which depends on weather systems. So even in the most protected place, one cannot guarantee the beach won't be red-flagged, though it is less likely in November than In October.

Also while we were there a man got stung by Jelly fish or Portuguese man of war. Not sure what their season is, but drop the hotel an email...they will tell you.

thanks! Are there any other resorts the have a more protected beach?

The red flags on the beach are seasonal, as Kathie has mentioned. I think you should be fine by late November. December weather is fabulous! Definitely swimmable, warm water.
