Phuket Icon Hotel
Has anyone stayed here? Brochure says it is outside of central Patong beach which is exactly what we want and the rates look quite good, would like any personal opinions.
|
Yes it is on a hillside overlooking Patong beach, I guess about 5 minutes of 1 km from the centre of town. I only stayed 1 night but the reason I chose it was that it was away from the crowded area of Patong. The rooms are gorgeous, we had a Junior Suite which was a bargain, about $60 I think but that was low season. It's like staying in a huge luxury house though there are about 20 rooms and suites. Good if you want to stay in Patong but be outside of the crowded part of town.

Have not stayed myself but friends have and they recommend it. It is small but seems to have a loyal following who always stay there.

Close enough to Patong for convenience but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle. It's not really suitable for families but is well decent for couples looking for a romantic hideaway type of place. Just had a meal there, looks stylish. What rates have they offered? would be interested to know what it costs for rooms.

It is $80 for the standard suite, $110 for a larger suite, and you even have a personal steward who takes care of everything. We though we had become stars. Have stayed two times this year and we will certainly return.

I always stay at the Icon when I visit Phuket. A suite costs about 110 $ US, as someone else posted, you have your own personal butler/host to take care of you. It gets heavily booked in peak season.
If you want 5 star service for a 2/3 star price then you cannot beat it.
It is very select, book well in advance. Normal room are between 50 and 70 US dollars a night.

Dawn, here's a site if you are still deciding:

http://www.phuket-boutique-resorts.8k.com

Shows photos of the rooms which are lovely.

The hotel offers a shuttle to the beach but is it possible to walk there.
