Phuket and Bangkok

Hi,
Can anybody recommend cheap hotels in Bangkok and Phuket?. I am guessing that Patong beach is the best place to stay in Phuket. I would like something convenient to the tourist area in Bangkok.

Thanks in advance
Jeff

You might want to browse www.sawadee.com It's the booking service I like. Prices include tax and service and sometimes breakfast.

Also, if you give us an idea of what you mean by "cheap" we can be more helpful.

An inexpensive place in Bangkok that some people like is Suk 11. But if, by tourist area, you mean KSR, look at the options in Sawasdee - hotels are listed by area.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, when i mean cheap I mean as long as it is clean and has it's own shower and toilet I am happy, I am guessing 3 star would satisfy this.

Thanks again
Jeff

Patong if you want lievly and walking distance to busy areas. Lots of places to stay, guesthouses to luxury. Thara Patong, Horizon, Safari and Patong Beach hotel mid range places, though get busy with families ( that is either a plus or minus depending on you )

These do Sawadee rates but give you specifics about hotels.

These give the rates in AU$ with tips on places, I lived many years in Patong, Patong Bayshore mid range on 2nd road and also Patong Lodge both good value. Tropica Bungalow also good value.
I have not stayed at Thanthip but know the location and say it being finished, location it is very good and price is good too.

This is their page where everything is in AU$ for Phuket, also some flight tips for flights to Phuket for Australia, which airline flies etc.

Thanthip is about AU$ 34 for a single with breakfast, in AU$ Tropica 35, Coconut Village 42, Thara is a good deal at the moment at AU$50, that is a very good 3 star+ short walkm to beach and just around corner from busiest area ( Soi Bangla ), we don't know age but if you want clubs that is also walking distance to Rock City and Club Lime which are busy places to meet people and good music ( if that music is what you like ) Safari is more, about $78 but I don't think worth the extra over the others. I am too many years out of touch with Bangkok now on the hotels, others will help, but eary to find good clean decent hotel in the AU$50 range.
