Phuket

I don't much about Phuket, so can't comment. But anyone considering the area might want to read this current link on TA...

Nai Yang is a quieter beach area near the airport. I believe at Surin they have also gotten rid of the vendors operating along the beach. Some of the beach areas have been ruined by too much development. Good thing they are having a cleanup.

The amount of development in the last 10 yrs has been berserk and hotel prices there have increased a lot.

Im glad the airport at Trat is small. Saves my fav islands from being ruined.

see no value in this post and some of the info is incorrect

LancasterLad Jul 29th, 2014 08:31 PM

I posted it as Phuket is a popular destination, and the subject has attracted a lot of attention on TA.
Not much value for some = great value for others.
Which info is incorrect btw?

this is fodors, not TA

I'm not going to reread the piece

LL, I understood that you have been banned by TA - three times, according to you. So why do you post all sorts of links to TA?

LancasterLad Jul 31st, 2014 12:34 PM

I post the occasional link from TA if I think it might contain useful info. I can't see what your problem with that is.

I posted regularly on TA, on several destination forums. I built up a healthy reputation, posting honest fist hand experiences. BUT I kept falling into a 'trap' on the Tunisia forum, as there are people on there who don't seem to like reading about 'the bad or the ugly'. But so what, I paid the price.

TA is a strange forum. They always seem to close off topics. Never bothered posting there but google searches always have some TA topic that was shut off.

TA has a couple of members that consider it their duty to protect the tender sensibilities of other members.

There is an automated report system that deletes posts without moderation. "X" number of reports = "bye bye post".
