phone rental

We will be traveling in Japan and wanted to know if we should rent phones in the Narita or Osaka airport or perhaps somewhere else? As we are traveling as a family, we wanted to make sure that we had some way of contacting each other. Where have you had success with phone rentals in Japan? Are they easy to rent and return?

Try Rentafone Japan - they mail the mobile phone directly to your hotel and also give you a stamped envelope so you can mail it back when you leave. I used them when I traveled in Japan and it worked out well.

I had a good experience with pupuru (google it!) - the phone was waiting for me, as requested, at Kansai, and it also came with an envelope for returning it.

I have used both pupuru and rentafone japan and rentafone japan is so much easier to use. The prices are better and the directions they give you to use their phones are easier to use and understand.

The rentafones also had better reception outside the major cities. My wife had a phone from pupuru while I had a phone from rentafone this past spring. She hated hers and I loved mine. Here is a webstite.

This is the first time that I have used this site and I am so impressed with the help that I have already received! I will certainly be asking more questions and hopefully answering some once we have returned from our trip to Japan.

I have used rentaphone twice and LOVED it. So easy to use and inexpensive also. Highly recommend.
