Phnom Penh Must Dos

Five day trip coming up. I'll have a day and a half for sightseeing and five other evenings free.

Looking for rants, raves and recommendations: sights, shopping, food, places to people watch, and maybe a game of pool. wouldn't mind seeing a traditional dance performance. Sighly racy nightlife suggestions always taken into proper consideration :)

Inital short list below:

TUOL SLENG MUSEUM
CHEUNG EK KILLING FIELD:
NEW CENTRAL MARKET
NATIONAL MUSEUM
ROYAL PALACE

Heart of Darkness Bar
Foreign Correspondents Club (FCC)
Riverhouse Restaurant

What do you think?

Russian market?
Boat trip on Mekong and/or Tonle Sap rivers.
Sorry I can't help with racy nightlife.

The Russian market is a little more interesting for shopping than the central market, although of course the architecture of the central market makes it 'necessary' quick stop.

Friends restaurant is the one 'must dine' spot for me in PP.

I'll also highly recommend dining at Friend's. Very good and creative food and friendly service. Wish it was in my neighborhood. Looking forward to returning.

Thanks for the inputs. I've added them to my list. Friend's looks like my kinda place.

While not a restaurant recommendation, I'd suggest sitting outside at one of the riverside restaurants one evening and watching the traffic and public wandering by. From overloaded tuk tuks (counted 8 in and around one) to fat repulsive western males with tiny Kymer girl friends, its a fascinating cavalcade.

"to fat repulsive western males with tiny Kymer girl friends, its a fascinating cavalcade."

And some profitable cultural exchanges to boot! LOL!
