Phi Phi Ferry Ride - Need advice urgently
A friend of ours is visiting us next month and we plan to go to Phi Phi island with them. Between 4 adults, we will have 2 kids 2 yrs of age. My son threw up on his last ferry trip to Bintan. The sea is really choppy there. Any ideas on how bad the ferry ride to Phi Phi can be? Is there any point in going there with two young kids? Or should we rather stay at Phuket?

I have used this ferry many times, and cannot recall ever seeing anyone throwing up. It's a pretty smooth ride. Air conditioned saloon. Beware of spending too much time on the outer decks. Very easy to get too much sun.
You could consider a speedboat. Much quicker and great fun! £125.00 each way. |
We talked to a couple of friends who had used speedboat and they advised against that for kids. They said its too hard on kids and that we should try the ferry thats more stable. I googled and found a couple of posts saying alot of people throw up on the ferry! Now I am really confused.

We took a ferry from Phuket to Ko Phi Phi and it was fine. However, the ride from Ko Phi Phi to Krabi was very choppy but I didn't notice anyone turning green and I wasn't bothered by it at all.
