Does anyone have advice on Penang? safety? hotel? <BR> <BR>thank you!

I agree. At least acknowledge the people who have been kind enough to reply to your original post. <BR>About safety, Penang should be safe enough as people live in a multi- cultural society. I believe that KL is not the same.

Penang's population is predominantly Chinese. You shouldn't have any problems there. <BR> <BR>anon - KL is much the same. The Malay (Muslim) population is outnumbered by Chinese, Indians and expats. East coast is where the Muslim population is more concentrated, and more fundamentalist. <BR> <BR>Anyway, I already answered this question. Glad you appreciated the response! :-p

Bill <BR>now that you have explained the reason why you did not respond to original questions I'd like to apologise for my somewhat harsh response!! I went to Penang several years ago and found the people to be friendly.there are a mixture of faiths and it seems to work really well. there is a great tolerance <BR>of others. Enjoy your holiday!
