Pearl's Powder
 

My husband was given a box with little packets called "Pearl's Powder" when he checked out of his hotel. The only instruction given was "good for health". Does anybody know what it is and how it is used? <BR>Thank you.

My husband (Chinese American) says that it's a cosmetic for women, made of ground-up pearls. You mix it with water and drink it for your complexion.

You mix it with water and apply on the face, it is like applying mask. <BR>Then you wash it off with water. <BR>Has a whitening effect.

Both of the above messages are correct. You can apply it or drink it. I was a child my mother would give us pearl powder mixed in water to drink for fever. Lately I've also seen pearl powder marketed in a cream for the face.

my mother used to make me drink it when i was young since i had a bit of acne. <BR> <BR>Its made of pearls and good for the complexion (so they say- never did anything for me) but so is egg white - as a mask..
