Pattaya Hotels

Can someone please make a recommendation for a decent, but not too expensive hotel in Pattaya? A beachfront hotel would be nice, but not a necessity. Thank you.

The Royal Cliff Grand- it is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed anywhere in the world!

The Marriott Resort is also a great place! But if you are looking for 'not too expensive' then you might try the Royal Twin Hotel(s), which is across the street from Marriott. It looks OK. It would be a short walk to the beach, as the Marriott is on the beach street, but not ON the beach side of the street.

Pattaya has a road that runs down the beach front, so there aren't any hotels on the beach in the city. You have to go to the headlands north or south of town to get on the beach (if there's any beach at all), and hotels in both areas tend to be more expensive.

In central Pattaya, both the Discovery and Fraser Resorts are both relatively new and just off the beach road.

On the headland between Pattaya and Jomtien - Cabbages and Condoms - (Birds and Bees) a great hotel resort., tropical gardens - beach and sea view pool. Grow their own herbs etc.

Had some friends stay at the Royal Cliff - their rooms in the old part were TINY!....and dingy.

Dusit at the end of Beach road has a beach.

What's your budget?

If you really must go to Pattaya, the Birds and Bees would be my choice. A good distance away from all the madness and sleeze and on an OK beach with fabulous views. It is a long way from the city by foot but only a 5-10 minute taxi ride to either Pattaya or Jomtien.

The Royal Cliff Resort has a number of properties- the earleir poster was no doubt referring to one of their older properties - the Royal Cliff Beach I suspect. The Royal Cliff Grand is the one you want to stay at. The rooms are very nice and the views are spectacular. The service is 5 star- we enjoyed everything about this resort.

Sincere thanks to all the respondents. I may try to get into the Marriott as well.

Good choice. The Marriott is really an oasis from the chaos that is Pattaya Beach, right outside the grounds of the resort. There are many shopping venues and dining options very close by. No need to taxi...
