Bangkok markets

Does anyone know of a market in Bangkok where I can get some Paul Frank shirts and stuff cheap? (yes, I know they'll be fake). I only have one afternoon free- it's a Friday(taking my kids for a swim meet, so it's a quickie in and out for the weekend)and am staying at the Imperial Queens Park hotel.

Thanks

Paul Frank is a designer/company that has cute characters like this monkey with a wide grin (Julius.), a giraffe , a penguin etc. My girls love them but the stuff is pricey. We are hoping to get some pj's, tshirts or something.

Try Pratunam Market. MBK is a shopping mall not a market.

MBK sells cloths bought from Pratuman BOBE and direct from the sweat shops (I mean famaly fraindly factories] so you'll find alot of the same things.. obviouly Pratuman has a wider selection of fakes but it can be a hassle trying too find one perticular item. .

Dear Bchen:
The best place to get anything is the weekend market. You can get there by going north on the Sky Train. Go to the last stop. It is the world's largest outdoor market. Take water. It's always very hot. The Chatuchak Market. You can anything there.

I love how the trave guieds overhype the weekend market... it's really no big deal.. well atleast for tourist unless you plann on buying chickens, used shoes, and furniture..

the fake cloths they sell are the same sold anywhere in bkk.. the prices may be a bit cheeper becouse many of he factories that produce these items are in that district..

the reason some people say they can find anything refers more too animals, plants, and used clothing..

Just back from Bangkok Thursday night. Found Paul Frank t-shirts in street markets on Silom near Patpong, Khao San Rd as well as Railey Beach. Didn't know what a "Paul Frank" was before observing the cute monkey t-shirts being worn by so many young people, then had to find one for my young niece. There are so many wonderful markets to chose from in Bangkok but if you're limited to a Friday afternoon it appears the Suan Lum Night market as well as the Chatuchak Weekend Warket are out unless Friday is considered weekend.
Khao San Rd had great shopping but first examine goods at different stands/shops for quality then begin bargaining at the best ones. Time didn't allow a visit to Pratunam Market but it's on the "next time list". Have a great trip.

Yep and my wife about started rolling on the floor! I wish I had a dollar for each time she told that story since we came home! Ans she wishes that she had the camers ready when this guy is showing me how to stuff this thing down the front of my pants! But i know what you meant! Hope that maybe one day we will be in bkk at the same time and can meet you and your wife!

Didn't realise you were talking about the monkey shirts (shows my age I suppose). Hundreds and hundreds at Pratunam Market. I got some for my daughter and she loves them.
