palawan

I will be spending two days in Palawan and would like a hotel on the beach. It sounds like the ones in town aren't near the water. Is there a place maybe outside of town or in another town nearby that is nice? Thanks

Where in Palawan will you be staying?

The nicest place in Palawan would be the islands. El Nido has 2 resorts one in Miniloc island and the other in Lagen. The islands in Palawan would hold just one resort. It is like Maldives. Dos Palmas, Club Noah, Club Paradise would be good properties as well.

If you are staying in Puerto Princessa, you might need a boatride to the islands.

If you only have two days you might want to fly into El Nido rather than Puerto Princessa. It's a charter flight though and a bit expensive (about $100)

We will be in Puerto Princessa. We only have two days and wanted to do the underground river. So we are probably too short on time to go to an island. Any place on the beach in Puerto princessa? Any recommendations? Thanks for you help.

I'm sure you hsave time to visit thr undrground river in Sabang. Probably arrive from PP, stay a night, visit the caves and return to PP the next day.

Sabang is very nice. I didn't see any great reason to linger in Puerto Princessa.

Not sure if your 2 days means the day you arrive as (day 1) and leave the next day (day 2). If that's the case, then you can only do the Sabang Underground River. It takes about 2-2.5 hours by land to get there, and another 1.5-2 hours for the boat ride into the river. You can get back to Puerto Princesa by sunset and have dinner at Balinsasayaw. Or you can go island hopping on Honda Bay.

If you're staying 2 nights, you can stay at any Puerto Princesa hotel as most flights arrive in the morning. You can then spend the rest of your day at Dos Palmas. They have a day trip that includes RT boat transfer to the island, lunch, snorkeling, island hopping, kayaking, etc. Check out their site: http://www.dospalmas.com.ph/ Then go to Sabang the next day.

You may also want to contact Bing at [email protected] for booking a tour of the Sabang Underground River that includes RT land transportation to Sabang and lunch. She can get you good rates at Dos Palmas also. Give her my name (Blessy).

Check out the Palawan forum on www.tripadvisor.com. I found the people there to be more on my league (with bills and budget constraints) so there's a lot more info for reasonable and safe places.

Just a tip, in any case anyone bugs you and you get scared, just mention the Palawan's Mayor name, Edward Solon Hagedorn, like say "hey honey, can you check with hagedorn blah blah blah" so people would know youre not just a tourist but very familiar in the area and people.
