A better option would be a deluxe bus "Nice" line. The trip takes 5 hours. The train takes longer.

Train is a great way to travel and there are 3 classes of sleepers. Contrary to rhkkmt remark you will get a good nights sleep as the train leaves at 22.00 and arrives at 8.20. Bus is good too but I prefer the train.

The overnight train is not that bad...I've slept through the journey before (but I like trains though nowadays I prefer the bus as it is faster.

However, for tourists looking to save some time and a night's accommodation, then why not.

The official website says the train departs Singapore at 2215 and arrives Sentral Kuala Lumpur at 0656 on a random date I chose. There are photos and prices on http://www.ktmb.com.my.

Not sure whether you could buy the tickets online or not but they do seem to have an e-ticket facility. In anycase, tickets should be plentiful even if you buy one or two days prior to your journey.

A train is the best option after a tiring day at KL. You get a good sleep, on the Malaysian side, the immigration is done in coach, only in Singapore do you have to get down from the train. Besides after crossing immigration in Singapore, you may want to take a taxi to downtown or board the train again for another 45 mins, that drops you pretty close to downtown.

Much better than a bus, trust somebody who stayed in Singapore for 2 years, (and travelled to KL for the parties!)
