Overnight stay at new Bangkok airport?

It looks like I'm going to be flying into Bangkok from Hanoi around 9:45pm and then leaving the next morning to Chiang Mai 7:30ish (don't have the exact time in front of me here). I'm wondering if the new airport will allow people to stay overnight? Thanks!

There is a hotel (novotel) at the airport - pricey - about US$165-185 including tax and service. At the old airport thee wer dayrooms called Louis (something) tavern, and they are supposed to repoen at the new airport, No word yet on whether they are open yet. When will yu be there?

bangkokairportonline.com will answer a lot of airport questions. It's quite a nice website. Happy Travels!

Kathie - I will be there January 2nd. The airport hotel (Novotel) is too pricey for me, and I was hoping there would be an alternative to going into tbe city for such a short stay (a dayroom would be excellent if they have them).

Guenmai - I looked at the map of the new airport and saw little symbols on levels 3 and 4 that look like tents to me, but there's no symbol key to explain what they are.

pepples13 -a day room named the same as the old airport. you should make reservation if it is opened. you might to check to the price and its location.

Day-rooms are on concourse G. I'll check on the price next week, but they're run by the same group (Louis Tavern). The rate at the old airport started at 1,400 Baht for 4 hours, so expect the new airport to cost a lot more than that.

Aside from the Novotel at the airport, there's another one (Novotel Bang Na) only about 20 minutes away that's showing a rate in November of only $66 a night.

I did email the Louis Tavern people via thie global website (I've forgotten the address) two days ago but still haven't heard anything. I too will be there, for a quick layover on Jan 3, booked Novatel to be safe, don't want to leave the airport, but wish the day thing would be open so I could save a few $$. I hope you can update us Mike!

Thanks for the info MichaelBKK! I've never used a dayroom before, is it something you can book ahead, or on a first-come first-served basis?

they are currently a monopoly

That is high...higher than Singapore...where it costs only around US$35.00 for the six-hour block and then extra for each hour after that up to, I think, about a max of 8 hours total stay. I recently stayed at Singapore's airport intransit hotel. Happy Travels!
