overnight narita layover

me and my fiance are travelling with JAL and are being put up in the nikko narita we arrive at 6pm and depart the next day at noon. just curious as to the convenience of getting to some local (yet english speaking) pubs and restaurants as the facilities are very expensive at the hotel.i realize we only have time for a late dinner and drinks, thanks to anyone who replies.

We flew JAL many years ago and had to overnight in Narita. They gave us vouchers for dinner at the hotel. For breakfast, there was a buffet which was also free. Check with JAL if they still do this. When we took this flight,it was compulsory to stay overnight in Narita hence the vouchers. We really enjoyed this flight - good food and very pleasant FA's. It was also great being able to shower and sleep in a bed after the long haul from JFK.

most of the airport hotels are quite issolated...narita town is quite nice if the hotel shuttle will take you there...

yes we get the breakfast for free but am not sure about the dinner. thats why we were wondering if it is easy to get into narita town and hit up a pub for dinner and a few drinks.

make sure your hotel has an airport shuttle & check the operating times. Store your luggage at the airport then catch the train back to Narita town. (There's Terminal 1, Terminal 2, then Narita town.) Explore there then catch the train back to the airport terminal, grab your stuff & get the hotel's shuttle to the hotel. Do the same thing next morning - shuttle to the airport, train to Narita, spend a few hours exploring (Google "Narita layover" for some good suggestions) train back to the airport & collect your gear. If you're really clever you will just pack an overnight bag & leave your main luggage in storage at the airport.
