Our KL taxi driver
If this is considered adveritsing please delete, editors. I have seen other drivers' names and numbers and not sure if I can post before someone asks me for it.
I just found his number and thought I would post this. We found his English level was good,( he has a strong Indian accent) and he was a very personable driver. He is NOT a tour guide, so you need to do your research, but we had a couple days with him and felt he did not overcharge.
He does go a bit clippty clip on the highways but we were not "passing everyone" just following too close for me at times.
I am sure he would react positively to any suggestions given.
He has a brand new car, too.
His name is KUMAR

I didn't keep notes but I believe he used the meter in KL, and then we asked him how much it would be to take us to FRIM and Batu caves and wait for us both places the next day. We were gone about 5 hours and if I recall CORRECTLY it was about 70 MYR?
We also went to Melaka and Petrajawa for a day trip (10 hours)and that was under 200.
I think KL taxis are about 20-30 /hour, but the longer yo have them the better the price is.
Maybe someone local can see if these were correct fares, but we seemed to think so.
anyway, we found him informative about politics and local life and pleasant to be around. Our son hit it off with him, too, as he was in the front seat. He was about the third taxi we had taken, and we had had problems understanding the other two. Some of the older Chinese men do not have fluent English. We found this also in Penang.
If you DO end up using him, please tell him his customers from Spain recommended him.

He speaks English pretty well; he's friendly, knowledgeable and knows where to find the best Malaysian food!
His rates are:
RM35/hour for 0 - 5 hours
RM30/hour for 5 - 10 hours
RM25/hour for 10+ hours
the prices include waiting and tolls
He charged me RM55 to take me from my hotel in Shah Alam to KLIA
Tell him Ruth from Washington or Maria from Los Angeles sent you.
