Osaka -- Itami Airport

Hello--
We'll be catching a flight out of Itami
(rather than KIX),and wondered if anyone has info on the best way to get there from central Osaka--my travel guides barely mention the place and the only info on Web seems to be in Japanese. THANKS FOR ANY HELP>

There are aiport buses. You can get one from the bus terminal (one next to the station, one across the street from the station, and a few more scattered throughout the city) or perhaps even from your hotel. Just ask at your hotel, making sure you clearly say Itami, as there are also buses to Kansai Airport. Where are you staying?

Thanks, thats reassuring. We'll be staying near Namba Station as we plan to hit Spa World and a baseball game--any idea what a taxi to Itami would cost?

Forget the taxi. Plenty of buses will go from the Namba station area as well. It's about 30 minutes to Itami, and a taxi might cost you 10,000 yen or more, depending on traffic. The bus is just as convenient and just as fast and waaaay cheaper.

We will be arriving at KIX, and are looking at various ways to get in to Osaka. We arrive about 4:30 PM, in late March. The airport bus looks favorable, but I do not understand if it stops at various hotels in the area to which each one travels? Or do they go to a central bus stop and one has to make their way from there? Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks. mhm

There are maybe 26 different airport buses right outside arrivals, stops lining the curbside. You take the bus that goes to where you want to go. There is a signboard that lists them out by bus number and where each one stops. The information counter will be able to help you too, or, when you buy your ticket from the ticket window (also located outside) they will ask you where you want to go.

Here's a link to KIX information, where you can further go to the airport limo information.
