Orangutans during an overnight jungle trek in Bukit Lawang, Indonesia

Something for the bucket list?

We did an overnight trek in the jungle 🍃🌿 spotted at least 10 orangutans (including a few babies!) 🐒 camped near a river 🏕 swam in a jungle pool 🏊🏻*♀ and returned to the village by river tube the next day!! 💦

The jungle town of Bukit Lawang is one of the best places in South East Asia to spot orangutans in the wild! Your chances of seeing them are very high since they typically stay near the edge of the jungle, because there used to be an orangutan rehabilitation center there that took care of injured animals.

If you want to see orangutans in the wild and you’re planning on visiting Indonesia - GO HERE! You will have an awesome time hanging out with these beautiful apes, as did we 🐒

We made a video about our adventure, so feel free to check it out if you’re interested!
