Today the building has been renovated as a theater for a variety of traditional and classical performances--plays, concerts, ballet, opera, and Vietnamese traditional dance.

Here are some information for you:

October 13 and 14: There will be a modern dance performance in the Opera House with the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony-orchestra and the HCMC school of dance. Sponsored by the Dutch Embassy.

You don't say which year. Are we talking dec 07/jan 08?

Thx you, Axxo, but I'd sort of already been there and done that. Generally all one gets is lists of five star hotels. True of your first link; I will check out the second in detail later to see if there is anything of interest buried there.

And, yes, the OH has a site too - but it just goes on about the building.

I'll be there Nov 15-17 approx - and Nov 28-30 approx. 2007.

Not one for setting an itinerary in stone, and will most likely go visit the Mekong Delta end Nov.

But if there was something I really wanted to see at the HCMC OH then I would revise my plans.

Which is really why I'm asking!!

Modern Dance is right up my street but a month too early.
