Just the train then the shuttle to Osenkaku. As you exit the station look to the right and you will see a few small shuttle vans with their drivers holding signs with names in Japanese on them for the various ryokan in the area. They all know what time the train gets there. Someone will have a sign with your name in English as you have to inform JGH what train you will arrive on and they will convey the message to Osenkaku.
When we arrived we got there on an earlier train because we were coming from a long distance and couldn't make the connection that would have gotten us there at the right time so got to walk the small town and have lunch at a small coffee shop,I had the oyaku donburi and my wife had the spaghetti with meat sauce, oiishi!.
Aloha!
