Online Booking for Thailand - Site reference??
 

Has anyone ever used Reservations Thailand 1x1.com? They want a deposit within 24 hours (non refundable) and although the rate seems comparable to other sites, it just seems a little fishy, but then this is my first trip to Asia and I may well be just a little paranoid. Looks like they may be affiliated with Sawadee and if so, comfortable just based on the postings here but want to be sure before I give someone a cc#. Thanks!

Do they want a deposit after they have confirmed your dates and rate at your hotel or before? There are places that want a credit card number just to check for availability - I wouldn't use them.

If you think they are affiliated with www.sawadee.com then go to that site and book. If they are affiliated, they should have exactly the same prices.

We used sawadee.com for 5 destinations in Thailand and Malaysia in 2006. While they required 1 nights deposit the balance was due 2 weeks before arrival at each destination. But, it was easier to pay balance 2 weeks before we left.
Abosolutely everything went smoothly including room location requests. Other sites except for sites that want the full payment at time of reservation may be good but we never used them.

A non-refundable deposit? I would look elsewhere. 1x1.com is a general domain site, and does not look good to me.

Did you go to the hotel site directly?((*))

Another vote for sawadee. No problems whatsoever.

most of them on the pre-pay sites are non-refundable one day deposits....
