Kaeng Krachan is roughly 1 hr 30 minutes to the north, this is inland whereas Sam Roi Yot goes along the coast you there are beach areas also

Thanks James,
Hotels in Hua Hin are under discussion and its currently between Marriott , Hyatt or Anantara Resort And Spa.

Cost is ok at all 3, I am considering location and facilities.

Do you have any thoughts on these ?

I would highly recommend either the Hyatt or the Anantara over the Marriott. If you opt for the Anantara, ask for a lagoon room - beautiful!. Some of the rooms in the older buildings are not as nice.

All of the rooms at the Hyatt are very nice (though not as large as the lagoon rooms at the Anantara). I think it's worth it to opt for the Regency Club rooms at the Hyatt.

Out of those I would also say Hyatt. Good views down thew beach, when you walk out to the main road there is a Thai bar on the corner and a few local shops around. It is only a few minutes into town and you pass the new mall on the way.
Also it is near to some of the best beach restaurants such as Supatra-by-the-Sea and let's Sea and you have the Thai dinner and show just outside the hotel gate.

Hi everyone,
There has been a change of plan.lol

It looks pretty much like we are looking at KO TAO RESORT.
Anyone been there?

What would you suggest as the best method of transport from BKK to KO TAO ?
I realise its some way from BKK.
Am currently studying but hoping for 1st hand experiences.

Thanks

Muck

If you want a quick trip to snorkel there is a day trip from Hua Hin to Koh Talu. It's a couple of hours by road and then boat over, bit of a long day on the tour but you get a day on a nice island and can snorkel etc.

Hanuman did the trip about a week ago to the island

Sasi Dinner and Show just by the entrance to the Hyatt is nice if you want Thai show nearby. You have the temples and historical and cultural sights, the new vineyards and the Sam Roi Yot National Park for easy morning or afternoon trips.

That island is Koh 'Talu' so don't confuse with Koh 'Tao'
