One month in Mumbai
Hello everyone,
I am planning to stay in Mumbai for about a month, since I would like to attend classes to learn Hindi and maybe some marathi. I’m planning on renting an apartment through airbnb but I’m open to other options as well. I was wondering which is the area I should focus on, considering I would like to enjoy my time off by hanging out with people, attending bars, events and so on. Thank you all in advance for your kind help ! |
9 Best Places to Live in Mumbai for Families on Rent

My suggestion would be:
1. Bandra (has good markets, very good nightlife) 2. Powai (choose to stay in Hiranandani) 3. Colaba 4. Worli 5. Juhu |
1. Bandra (West) for bars, nightlife I.e. considered 'cool'.
2. Khar (West) ... adjacent to and similar to Bandra, but slightly less expensive 3. South Mumbai (extensive area encompassing Colaba etc.) ... one of the most expensive areas of India, but replete with culture, history, architecture, and the cool stuff ---- bars, cafes, beaches 4. Dadar/Matunga -- arguably less glamorous than the first three, nevertheless a lovely residential area and probably the better ones to pick up the local language and traditions. PS - wherever you choose, do bear in mind that the East/West of most suburbs make a significant difference. |
