One day in Phuket

What to do for a day in Phuket? ( from 10 am to 5 pm)

Depends what you want to do. You can head for a beach and spend the time swimming, relaxing and having a Thai seafood lunch. You can go shopping. There are many tour agents around if you want to take a tour. It just depends if you want to chill out or run around doing things.

Unfortunately, that's not enough time to do the one thing I think is a 'must do' in Phuket -- see Phang Nga bay, preferably by sea canoe. You have to leave around 8:00 in the morning for that tour.

Thanks for the information.

Are you coming in on a cruise ship? Your 10 to 5 schedule makes it seem so. I assume the cruise ships dock on the southeast part of the island, near Phuket town. You should probably try to do things in the southern part of the island.

I enjoyed parasailing on Patong beach. I also experienced a short ride on an elephant, near Patong. It's one of those things you can say you did (but would probably NOT opt to do again... the flat board seat is VERY hard).

Shopping at one of the beach towns can be interesting. I enjoy Kata.
