Once More into the Breech

Forsaking all reason, the pandas are once again venturing into the darkest confines of Needham for dinner. I'm inclined to bring at least one hotel GM along with a takeout oprder of Chicken with Cashews. Any suggestions?

Somebody's got to do it. Way to step up. The tough get going yet again.

What we need is Dogster to give a play-by-play - now that would be a remarkable twist to an otherwise predictable evening...Go Mets

As of today, you can get a 2008 AL West Division Champs cap and t-shirt to wear. Be the first on your block.

his nibs forgot to mention that the reason for the invite----don't think we would invite him to the leefy burbs on a weekday nite unless there was a reason---robmac from toronto is visiting boston and will be unable to attend the GTG next month....as we enjoyed them so much year before last i thought we would have them to dinner....just for entertainment we have invited gpanda (not at all lovely) and the very lovely mrs panda. we have counted the silverware and put the plastic covers on the furniture...

the menu is heavily laden with bamboo.

If either one of them breaks out the photo album that is going to be one VERY long dinner.

Better they just discuss the prospects for the now quarterback-less New England Patriots.

In the interest of self-defense, I just ate a huge lunch. While Karen can be relied upon to put out a wonderful dinner, the serving staff is wholly untrustworthy.

Beth and I will have to pick up a third wise person on the way to Needham. Cambridge is full of them.

Survived another time. Dinnere was great. Caesar salad with chicken, sliced tomatoes with mozzarella and basil, corn and bean salsa, and some lentil salad. Lemon poppyseed cake for dessert.

Rob and Iris were their usual charming selves. They claimed to have been held at the border for an hour for security reasons. They did not say whether in was the US keeping them out or Canada keeping them in. We had a pleasant discussion about Aberdeen and a local mystery writer who trashes the place. Their bogus reason for not having an Asia trip planned was that they were devoted parents. I did not fall for it.

Karen had two albums with old pictures that showed B and K in their youth. Karen was beaming and Bob had a bow tie.

Bob's distractions were kept to a minimum. He kept muttering something about Hawaii, but we ignored him.

All in all, the pandas were rewarded once again for their bravery. The return to Cambridge was uneventful. Clearing immigration was quick.
