Olympic Equestrian Events Hong Kong
 

Any opinions or advice on getting tickets to any Olympics equestrian event, Hong Kong Sept 2008? Would it be possible? Travel would be from Florida. Thanks!

I think its a great idea. The events, however are in AUGUST 2008, not September. The Olympis start on August 8 and run for about 3 weeks. Tickets are still on sale from what I understand, go to the main website at
http://en.beijing2008.com/ and check that. You may also be able to purchase a package of air, hotel and tickets. The events are being held at the Jockey Club in Beas River in the New Territories and will be reachable by public transport.

The one drawback is that the weather in August is typically rainy and very hot and humid. Why the PRC picked August for the games is beyond me (yes, I know it was because 8.8.88 is very lucky), but its also tyhpoon season...

I determined that August 2008 Olympic Event Ticket sales in the US are being handled by an official vendor named CoSport. (google for website and contact info). Website message says live ticket sales start in October, but that option was not active on the website as of today's date.

I booked a week on points at the JW Marriott in Hong Kong starting Aug 4, 2008. The Marriott hotels are bookable through the Marriott website for the period including the Olympics, so, some hotels are accepting reservations.

I have no idea about Olympic tickets....
