odaiba to shinjuku

hi! my husband and i will be on a guided tour of tokyo (it's our first trip - next time we'll do it on our own), and we chose to have 2 free nights in shinjuku. however we have to figure out how to get from odaiba to shinjuku. do we need to purchase tickets here before we get to japan, or can we do that at the time of travel? thank you!!!

An year ago we did the same: we had a guided tour in Japan, with two extra days in Tokyo and one in Osaka. In Tokyo we arrived two days before the tour, but we stayed at the same hotel (and room) as with the tour. The same, at the end of the tour we remained one more night in Osaka (the same hotel and room). So, it was very easy.
For our first days in Tokyo, we had a private guide,it we found this very useful. She took us from the hotel and we just walk or use together public transportation. So, she showed us how to buy tickets, etc.
No need to buy tickets before you arrive in Tpkyo. You will buy them at stations, without any problem. Probably the tour guide or the people at hotel can explain you exactly how go easy from your hotel in Odaiba to this in Shinjuku (if I understand you correct).

Have a nice trip!

Hi

Not a Japanese native, but have visited Tokyo. In fact we stayed at Shinjuku and visited Odaiba. We used the Metro (not the Tokyo rail), and it easily took us there - think we needed 1 change of trains. BTW, Odaiba is not far from Shinjuku be Metro (20-30 mins).

The hotel conceirge should have a subway map for you and it is pretty easy to follow - lots of English, with clearly marked stops.

If you are planning to be adventurous, get the whole day Metro pass - allows you unlimited on-off privileges, makes life easy to wonder in and out of various places at your own convenience.

If you are going to do that anyway, try the Tsujiki market (another subway stop), one of the most interesting fish markets - ok if you don't want to wake up at 4am for the fish auction, you can go later in the morning and eat the sushi - great sushi at reasonable prices!

We loved Tokyo, and hope you do to!Have fun!

You would have to take the Yurikamome line to Shiodome. From there change to the Oedo line which should bring you back to Shinjuku. You can get tickets at the stations.
