NY Times Travel section - 3/17/13 -ASIA
Just as I'm beginning to think of next year's possible trip to Asia, I ran across this today, the NYTimes Sunday travel section devoted to Asia:
http://www.nytimes.com/pages/travel/index.html
Of course, I'm sure for many of you, much of this information is not new (and I'll get more help with specifics on this board!), but it's always fun when a region you're interested in is actually written about in the NY Times travel section. It gives me more excuses to plan.

There was a good piece on Rajasthan last year, just as I was planning the trip, so I was thrilled!

I read the article about booking hotels in Asia the other day and was not impressed. They end up concluding that it's so complicated that you should employ a travel agent to book everything including excursions!
The Bangkok piece was pretty good (though they didn't mention the skytrain - the public transport most visitors will use much more than the subway they do mention.
I suppose I should be glad that they are giving more attention to travel in Asia.
