NW Airlines
 

We have found a good transpacific Business class fare on NWA for this fall. I found some comments from a year or so ago about NWA business class but cannot find any recent info about their new business class product. If you have flown recently could you please forward any comments.
Also, what are our best options for airfare for doing multi-city hop throughout SE Asia. Sample itinerary: Hong Kong to Bangkok, then to Bali and back to Hong Kong

n/w IS NOW using air busses in asia...744's over the pacific and then airbusses from tokyo---fyi...

he flight from bkk to bali was 1/2 the price of what i could get in usa or on line--thai air....give him a call...

the same holds true for HK agents, but i do not know any

744's cross the Pacific. All planes have been refitted with their new seats and entertainment system. The seats are OK...they adjust so that you are flat, but your head is still above your feet...they are kind of like an inclined board a bit. After fiddling around the adjustments for quite a while, I did find a setting I found comfortable. There is plenty of cabin room. The upper deck has lost some luggage storage space due to the reconfiguration, so keep that in mind if you sit up there and have lots of carry on.

Over the last year, I've found NWA's service to Japan from the US to have improved a lot. Attendants are much less surly than they used to be...recently they have been friendly, even in economy class.

Business class food...it was fine. Plenty of it. Reasonable variety.

Entertainment...also fine...not the greatest available, but now that it seems the kinks are worked out and it worked reliably it's nice enough. At least you've got choices of what to watch.

NWA goes to Hong Kong and Bangkok from Tokyo, and now Nagoya too I think. NWA lets you earn and redeem miles on Garuda Indonesia, which would get you to Bali.

If you are not a World Perks member looking to earn miles for this trip, you might actually do better in terms of comfort and price on another carrier. I'd try pricing out your routing on a variety of carriers and see what comes up best. A company like Airbrokers International often has very good prices using creative routings and different carriers. Cathay Pacific has an Asia pass kind of deal that might suit your needs as well.
