NRT to Haneda
I'm sure it's fairly easy to get from one airport to the other, on an 8-hour lay over. DS needs to make this connection a week from now. Thought I'd ask here. He arrives NRT around 4pm and leaves from Haneda just past midnight. How should he navigate from one airport to the other? Plenty of time to do it, I think. He will have one large suitcase, possibly two. How should he go about making this connection? Thanks everyone! All suggestions are appreciated. I assume a train is the easiest? Cost? Timewise?

Limo bus is easy and ¥3000. With any baggage it is easier than trains.

Thanks, Kim. Is it easy to locate this Limo Bus? And does it run frequently? Tickets ON the bus, or at a ticket kiosk?
Thanks!!! |
Aloha Carol,
Tickets are bought at a counter in the arrival lobby after immigration/customs. See the site for pictures and click the timetable for the bus times. Really easy to do just purchase your ticket and they will tell you what bus stop to wait at and the time of the next bus. You roll your luggage to the bus stop where they will load Brad's luggage and off load for him at HND. Bus stops are right outside the exit door and the digital signs above each stop in Japanese and English tell of the next 3 arriving buses and their arrival times. REAL easy. http://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/bus...da/narita.html Aloha! |
Tickets at well marked ticket counter. Very frequent. http://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/

SUPER!!! I knew I could count on my fodorite friends for the best, most up-to-date information. Much appreciated.
I knew it must be an easy transition from airport to airport! Carol |
One more question, relative to the two airports. DS will be travelling in first class (FF miles)... is there a lounge at Haneda where he can relax and enjoy food/drink while waiting to fly on to Bangkok? I know there are lounges at Narita... but maybe it's best to get himself to Haneda FIRST and then relax.

Should add that he flies ANA to BKK, but on a two-class plane, not 'global' first class. Does that make a difference?
|
ANA has both a 1st class lounge and a business class lounge at Haneda's International terminal. I'm reasonably sure that the HND-BKK flight only offers business class; however, if his flight into NRT is in F on UA or ANA, then he should have access to the F lounge at Haneda. (If flying business class into Tokyo, then he'd have access only to the business class lounge.) Even the business class lounge, though, will have decent food & drink.
HND has 3 terminals, btw -- the BKK flight will depart from the International terminal. |
Thanks, Don. I'm relaying all of this valuable information to Brad. Hopefully the move from airport to airport is easy (you all make it sound like a cake walk :) ).

We ended up with a very similar connection earlier this year (we were on Thai, not ANA, but they leave HND about the same time), although in our case United provided the transportation via charter bus due to missed connection.
We were in UA business into NRT and economy on Thai from HND-BKK, so we only had access to the ANA business lounge at HND--but even that had decent food, drink, showers, and wi-fi (better than the regular United Club at NRT). |
That's good to hear, ms_go. Thanks for that bit of information.
