Northern Golden Triangle

Just curious if anyone has stayed at the Anantara Resort in Thailand. Is Chiang Rai worth visiting instead?

We're going end of next month. Many reports here rave about it...do a search and you'll find lots. Chiang Rai is a small city and the Anantara is an hour outside up on the border, set pretty much by itself, about 1 km from the small town of Sop Ruak which has a few shops and restaurants and a boat landing.

Wow Kim I remember when it was over a year....it's so soon and I'm jealous, are you ready, excited ? :)

Aloha!

Ready? Not yet. Still have exams to give to 150 students, grade them, then assign term grades. Then I'll pack....probably just in time to go. :)

chiang rai is ok, but anantara is fabulous....on site they have elephants, a fantastic cooking school, a wonderful spa, a great pool and wonderful relaxing rooms....it is one hour north of CR...

If you do a search on the Anantara at the Golden Triangle, you'll see lots of report. Many of us love the place.
