I have read posts that say a taxi is readily available in Nha Trang. Others post that one must be careful since a taxi will be difficult. Anyone have any advise ?

It also depends on where you want to go. I went on a cruise that stopped in Nha Tran. The cruise director warned us not to believe any taxi driver who said he could take us all the way to Ho Chi Minh City or back. There is a permit/license system that only allows drivers to drive in certain zones. The tour director said that anyone who attempted to take a taxi long distances risked being let off on the side of the road if the taxi driver was stopped by the police and found not to have the proper license.
