Next week in malaysia!
Hi,
Finally, we are reaching the end, which is the wedding. Next saturday, we will be newly weds and on monday , off we go to malaysia for our honeymoon. As we were dealing with all other things about the wedding, house and etc, we have totally forgot about the honeymoon. Here is our final plan (we bought the int. flights and made the bookings of hotels, but we haven't bought the domestic flight tickets ): . arrive KL and fly to penang . 4N in Eastern & Oriental Hotel, penang . fly to langkawi (don't want to waste our honeymoon on ferry, especially as i usually get sea sick) . 3N in datai . fly to kl . 3N in mandarin oriental What do u think? Any last minute recommendations, particularly about sights and food?? Thanks Neres |
Congratulations. Have a great time. The trip sounds wonderful. Report back on the good and bad.

looks fabulous....you will love datai...very remote...great golf course nearby...
langkawi is very laid back...rent a car for a day and drive around... |
I am curious as to why 4 nights in Penang and only 3 at the beach. I like Penang and it has some interesting colonial architecture, but in my opinion 4 nights is about 2 too many. I think 2 full days and maybe a third is fine, depending on how late you arrive on your first day, i.e. if you don't get any sightseeing in on your first day then staying another night may be justified. I am not a huge fan of Langkawi, as I think there are better beaches in Asia, but it is pleasant, and this is your honeymoon, so I would think a more relaxed pace and more time in a secluded place would be preferable.
In Langkawi be sure to take a boat trip with a naturalist to see the mangrove swamps, really this is the best thing about Langkawi, IMO. Not sure which hotel you are staying at, many hotels offer this type of trip. |
