I second that last reply. I reviewed the photos and it looked to cold, too modernistic (if that is a word). Does not have the warmth that the Penn and no doubt the Oriental.

Nope, not my style, either. If it is open when I'm in Bangkok in November/December, I'll go take a look if I can find the time... You should see my list of must-dos this trip!

i have heard the same stories for years about the sofitel on the river...this man does not represent this hotel but others...

i trust all attorneys...look at my friendship with gpanda, the original ambulance chaser....

come to think of it i'm not sure i trust you laurie either....hahaha

when i see gloria put her foot inside the door and purr like a kitten then i will know that a new era has arrived in bkk....

Gpanda, we have to stick together and defend ourselves lest we be eaten alive by the real sharks. Remember, there's power in numbers. (2 against 20, good odds?)

i saw the hilton from the river yesterday...all the windows are in, and they are doing quite a bit on the front of the building...i even saw trees planted on the upper reaches. maybe that's part of their "beach" on the river? anyway, they'll have nifty river boats too
