hyatt has just announced a new credit card---they did not have one before...

among other benefits you receive two free nights at any hyatt, no blackouts, after your first purchase....

$75 year, but a great deal for us travellers....

you also get free hyatt platinum membership for a year by getting this card which is great especially for international traveling.

there are all kinds of perks.... they have done easy upgrades in the past as well with my plat. level...


no, of course marriott is still #1 for me, but starwoods has such attractive cash and points that i love them too....and i have used hyatts for years but always found it hard to accumulate points without a credit card from hyatt...

now, carol, if i had your travel schedule i would rack up miles like a pro!!

Sounds like a deal to me. I just did a special with Hyatt where you'd get a free one night stay at any Hyatt in the world with two stays (one night each is fine) at any other Hyatt. So I used 4 one night stays at Hyatt Places for about $69 each to get two free nights at Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong, worth about $475 each. While I hate annual fees on credit cards, $75 seems a small price to pay for two free nights at some great Hyatt property. Although the second year, I assume you don't get the free nights.

We've already applied for this card and will be switching our allegiance. In the last year or so we've stayed in Hyatt Place hotels 4 times and enjoyed the room layout plus the price is right.

I was disappointed to find that there are only 3 Hyatts in the UK though so we will have to continue to juggle other hotel loyalty programs.

DH and I are longtime Hyatt platinum members and always wondered, and asked, why they didn't have a credit card. I got mine in the mail yesterday and DH is awaiting his. Their program is terrific, we have never had a problem using our points in any Hyatt worldwide. We have stayed at the Park Hyatt in Paris 4 times on points, we are staying at the Park Hyatt in Milan this year on points, and stayed at the new NYC Andaz on Fifth Avenue on free nights we earned (like Neo). The best part of this card IMHO is the zero foreign transaction fee. And yes, the $75 fee is made up by the 2 free nights anywhere in the world.

Is there a club lounge which offers breakfast or hors d'oeuvres like Marriott does?
The zero foreign transaction fee is definitely a major perk that I'd overlooked.

We took advantage of the gift cards in the spring at a Hyatt Place in FL without any problems.

I've long liked Hyatts. I used to be Platinum with them, but our travels haven't taken us to many places with Hyatts in the last few years. I think I'll plan a trip to use the free nights and get one of these cards. I loved being Platinum - great benefits!

And if your travel partner/companion gets one, you can have four nights for $150! Not a bad deal if you choose wisely!

There's one in every crowd - that would be me. I like that there is no foreign exchange fee BUT the free night's stay is only in a standard room which means NO executive floor. When we are on vacation we like the convenience of having a "free" breakfast in an exclusive club-like setting as well as the "free" drinks and hors at night plus the separate check-in/out. Also, whenever you use this credit card and convert points to miles, the exchange rate is not good - 2.5 points gets you 1 mile. A 1 to 1 exchange rate would be cause to reconsider but this does not sound like a good deal to me. Finally, how many credit cards is Chase going to allow me to have? I already have the Mileage Plus and Mileage Plus Business through United...

Craig Chase will allow you many cards from them. I have maybe 4 thru Chase and on my last application they called and said that they would lower my credit limit on one so that they could approve my latest aplication. (from $5000 to 3000 no big deal) My wife has several as well. I say this is a good deal if you plan on traveling within the year that the free nights are good- ok so you give up the club room for 2 nights- not a big sacrifice for the free nights (ok not entirely free - $37.50 per night!)
