New Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa
I have just booked (using points) the "new" (renovated) Marriott Hua Hin. The photos look really lovely. This looks like the perfect place for our 5-night new years eve stay at the end of this year. We've been going to the Phuket Beach Club Marriott time share, which we really love, the last several years and have really enjoyed it, but we are ready for a change.
Looking for anyone's experience with this new hotel. I'm platinum so hoping for an upgrade from my "basic" room booking. There were no other options, using points, or I would have tried for a pool access or beach view, but since no choice, I booked the standard room. Since it will be the holidays, I'm wondering if upgrades will be available at all. When we used to stay at Pattaya Marriott we were at least upgraded to beach view. Would love to read any reports on this "new" resort. It has re-opened fairly recently, if I understand correctly. Looks lovely, in any case. Thanks. Carol |
I'm looking forward to your report on it, Carol.

the piece of property is quite narrow, but deep. many std rooms, pre-reno, were small and dark. I am sure this group, also owns pattaya and anantaras, have done a good job with reno.
directly across the main road from a mall. |
OMG, I think the place is totally redone---nothing like the original...
I looked at pics. |
We stayed here years ago so kkow the location and like it. Really liking the reno pics.

The photos look great. But I can't place where it is. We've stayed at the Hyatt, and many years ago we stayed at the Anantara in Hua Hin. The map on the Marriott website doesn't give me landmarks I recognize. Oh, wait - is it at the site of the old Marriott right in town?

Kathie---travelling from town south it is before the hyatt

Ok, thanks, Bob.

A poster on flyertalk has just stayed there, nearly full house, but was upgraded as a gold. Sounding a bit more hopeful for my platinum status.

Good luck with the upgrade, Carol.
