New BKK airport limo

Has anyone taken a limo from the new airport to a hotel in BKK? My parents and sister/brother-in-law are arriving at the new BKK airport on Nov 9, 2006 at 11 AM and would like to use a limo.

Please suggest a good limo company with vehicles that could take all 4 large pcs of luggage, 3 carryons and a wheelchair. Please also provide an email for contact and the approx. limo cost. If you have hired a limo from the airport counter, which one and what is the approx. cost?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

I doubt that they will find a limo able to take all of that! Perhaps one of the Mercedes vans could fit that, but I doubt it. I think they will need two vehicles.

The "limos" in Bangkok are nice Mercedes or Volvo sedans, not stretch cars like you see in the US. There is a limo service in the arrivals area; no need to book ahead.

As the new airport has changed the way the limo services work, I don't think anyone yet has all the answers to your questions. Still, making arrangements on arrival will not be a problem.

(Bob is supposed to be reporting back on his expereince soon, perhaps we'll have more info for you.)

Bob is the limo expert. He always uses AAC limo. He has not yet used them from the new airport, but there's no reason to believe it will be any different. You may be able to get your hotel to send a limo, but this will cost 30-50% more.

Thanks Gpanda.

I checked previous post and found AAC's website. They have mini-vans and the rate is 1350 bahts (10% discount for VIP member) + 65 bahts for toll fees to Siam center.

They need a mini-van limo too to take them to the Sapphire Cruise port terminal at Laem Chabang so I'll make enquiries on that transfer as well.

Thanks again!

I've emailed AAC twice in the last 4 days ([email protected]) and have yet to receive a reply. Anyone know of another I can comfortably book in advance. 2 adults plus 1 child and usual baggage. Thanks

Some FYI on the new airport AOT limo service: They're advertising in the baggage claim area that the fare into central Bangkok is 700 Baht, which is about double a metered taxi (as before). It looks like most of their fleet is now large SUVs (Isuzus I think), with an occasional Benz thrown in.

I got my reply from AAC limousine. For my parents' party of 4 people, I booked a mini-van from airport to hotel with 10% VIP disccount (1215 bahts + 65 bahts for toll fees) and a mini-van transfer from hotel to Laem Chabang port (1890 bahts + 125 toll fees + 200 bahts port fees).

Thank you for all your assistance. This is forum is awesome!

Michael, the Bangkok Post has printed complaints from people about the new airport limo service. Apparently, there have been lots of glitches with limos no-shows for return to the airport trips. I think this is a new company - at least I've never used them. Any comments?

In the past, I've always just taken one of the limo services from the airport. I haven't bothered to book ahead. But since I want to arrange pick-up at my hotel for my return, I don't want to go with a service that is still working out the kinks...

AFAIK, the airport limo service is run by the same people. It has been years since I used them, and have never booked a return service. Frankly, I don't know anyone who has. Taxis are so cheap and easy since installing meters that I've never seen the need to use the limo service.

hi, i was just there...when you arrive at the airport...just go up the escalator and take a "taxi meter" from somebody arriving...the cost is 350 baht including the tolls...we paid him 400 baht and was happier then a kid in the candy store...and if you call 2 cabs which you will need because of the luggage...that is still only 800 baht...you will save a huge amount and why not spend it on beer or something else...happy travels...

I prefer to use the limo service as we travel with lots of (empty) luggage for shopping. In the past, it was AAC Limo that was at the desk just after you came out of arrivals. I always had good luck with them.

Thanks for the suggestion, luv2cook2, but I'm not a beer-drinker (;-)
