Have you been to Bangkok before? If not, there is more than enough to do to keep you well occupied for 4 days.
If you have been to Bangkok and want an interesting side trip, consider Siem Reap, Cambodia for the temples at Angkor (minimum 3 full days in Siem Reap) or Luang Prabang, Laos, also for a minimum of three full days.

There is only one airline that flies non-stop between Bangkok and Siem Reap: Bangkok Air. It has several flights per day. You can book on their website.
There are lots of guide recommendations for the temples of Angkor. A fave on this board is Ponheary Ly or her brother Dara. if you do a search, you'll find conatct info for them. There are several others who have recently been recommended. A search should bring those up as well.
I always recommed Dawn Rooney's book, Angkor, to read about the temples before you go and to choose particular temples you'd like to visit. There are dozens, so you won't be able to see all of them.
We have photos on our website of our 2001 trip to Angkor. You are welcome to view the temples we saw in our week there: www.marlandc.com
