Need help planning a trip to Bali
I am planning a trip for my family 6 adults for two weeks.
I want to visit Siagon, Bangkok than spend a week in Bali. I would like to rent a villa in Bali. I get very confused on what to see in these places and where to stay. Also if there are any less expensive air travel from place to place. Going in May Please help before I pluck the last hair out of my head. Thanks |
For 6 adults, a villa in Bali would be the way to go. In researching this awhile ago for my 2003 Bali trip, I found that most of the villas were located in the coastal areas. I highly recommend spending some time in and around Ubud. You will need a driver. Many on this forum have used Putu. He can be reached via e-mail: [email protected]
You can get less expensive airfare (Bangkok to Bali, for example) by purchasing through "Eddie" at American Express in Bangkok ([email protected]). |
Villas are definitely the way to go. There are many around Ubud as well as the beaches. Unless you're looking for a very active nightlife 'scene', you might look at Sanur beach. It's actually a much nicer beach for swimming and other water sports, but not surfing. You can probably get something cheaper here as well. If you really want to be in the middle of things, then look around Seminyak, which has lots of villas on offer.
In Ubud, you might have a look at Payangan Hideaway (http://www.payangan-hideaway.com) but be warned that it's actually some distance from Ubud, as are many of the villas around Ubud. |
Thanks everyone for helpful info on a guide in Bali and who to go to for decent airfare from BKK to Bali. We are going in October and I have E-mailed both who were mentioned

marv, It certainly IS confusing as there are zillions of villas in Bali and more are being built every day. If you are sure that you want a villa then I'd first narrow in on an area then do some research on the internet with recommended agents.
Personally I'd recommend splitting your time between the Ubud area and Seminyak beach. Some points that you need to consider in renting a villa are transportation, staffing and in the case of beach locations be sure to ask about the beach access. I can recommend this agent for villa rental, but if the properties listed tend to be on the pricy side for your group, there are plenty of less expensive options to be found as well. www.baliluxuryvillas.com |
