Narita Tokyo to Cruise Terminal
Advise or suggestions on best way to get from Tokyo Narita airport (arr 7pm) to accommodation ( any recommendations) close to the cruise terminal for 2 nights prior to our cruise on the Diamond Princess in July.
Any other tips would be welcomed.

The least expensive way is the limo bus. We cabbed it to Shinjuku for a cool $190.00 and from there to the ship, also the Diamond was about $ 140.00. Not sure what is around the port but money wise take the limo bus for about $35.00 each.

OP: You first need to find out which cruise port your ship departs from. Most ships depart from Yokohama, but some use locations in Tokyo itself.
Yokohama is a short train ride from Tokyo. If you want to stay in Yokohama, there are many hotels there, including a Sheraton and an InterContinental.
To get to either of these hotels or just about any Yokohama hotel (and assuming that you don't want to do a lot of walking), you have two reasonably-priced choices: (1)Take the airport limobus to Yokohama city air terminal and then taxi to the hotel, or (2)Take the Narita Express train to Yokohama station and then a taxi to your hotel. The bus to Yokohama takes about 1:45; the train takes about 1:30. Both are comfortable, but the bus has the advantage of an attendant putting your luggage in the bottom compartment for you. The costs are similar.

Your suggesting were so helpful, thank you. With our flights now confirmed and more details I can now plan. We arrive at Narita about 7pm on the 5th July and our cruise departs on the 8th. We return on the 25th but don't fly out till the 27th July. Would you recommend we stay near Tokyo e.g Ginza area and do sightseeing around that area before the cruise and then stay the few days after the cruise in Yokohama? I know it's a long way to the airport but our flight doesn't leave till the evening.
If by chance anyone else is doing the same cruise, Diamond Princess, I would love to chat and meet up. We are from Brisbane, Australia.
