Narita

We will be having a 5 hr. layover in Narita. I think Tokyo is too far to go to but I've heard the town of Narita is pretty nice by itself. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you. Larry

You want to read Mike Newman's Narita Layover Page at http://www.mgnewman.com/Naritax/.
Yes, I agree a couple of hours at Narita City would be very worthwhile.

we have twice been out to narita town....in the past you had to get a special pass from immigration to do that...not sure that applies still..

it is worth it to go out and have a meal and walk around....there is a really nice temple you can visit and a lovely shopping street...

one time we took an hotel bus to one of the big international hotels and had a great lunch...

The new Keisei Skyliner takes you to Nippori in 36 minutes.

You could easily spend a couple of hours in the area and be back to NRT in comfortable time for your flight.

Here's an article w/pic about an interesting shopping street in Nippori:
