Mystery series that takes place in Laos

Just discovered the author Colin Cotterill who has written a series of mysteries that take place in Laos in the late 1970's. The first one is "Coroner's Lunch" which I just finished. I wouldn't say it was as good as the Bangkok Tatoo series, but it is definitely worth reading as it does give some good insights into what life was like right after the war. The books are easily purchased on amazon.

Thanks, Gloria. Did you read the excellent book, The Trouser People, about Burma? I do not think I have seen it discussed here...

Gloria, I ordered the books from Amazon and just got an email yesterday that they had been shipped. I'm looking forward to reading them.

eks, there have been several threads about books on Burma, and The Trouser People is one that has been recommended. I have a large collection of books on Burma... one of these days I'll actually go!

Thanks, Kathie..I did not remember seeing it mentioned but of course you all would be aware of it! I visited Burma back in the early 80s and all this talk is making me think about returning...maybe for my next Asian jaunt! And I am not even over the jet lag from this past trip yet!
